Biodesign is a platform technology behind numerous tissue-repair products, spanning multiple specialities.
The Biodesign Dural and Duraplasty Grafts are indicated for use as a dura substitute for the repair of dura mater. The body’s signaling mechanisms help patient cells infiltrate the scaffold and completely remodel into natural host tissue, resulting in a post-op leak rate as low as 1.7%. The Biodesign material is easy to manipulate, doesn’t swell with hydration, and doesn’t fold onto itself. The Biodesign Duraplasty Graft can be secured in place with or without sutures, depending on clinician preference. The grafts are supplied sterile in peel-open packages and are intended for one-time use only.
The Biodesign Otologic Repair Graft is a 4-layer, Porcine Small Intestinal Submucosa graft, with an overall thickness of .25mm, that enables a truly minimally invasive approach to ear surgery and significantly decreases intraoperative time (average of 7.7 minutes of time savings per procedure). It offers complete closure through neovascularisation and tissue ingrowth. Biodesign is a single use, easy to manipulate graft that does not fold onto itself, allowing for improved surgical precision during graft placement. The convenient sizing options and single use packaging help simplify closures. The circular size options come pre-cut in a case, and the square sheets can be cut to preferred size and shape before placement.
COOK Medical’s Biodesign® Grafts are made from Porcine Small Intestineal Submucosa and are easy to handle. The proprietary processing methodology decellularizes the SIS material while preserving natural matrix molecules, such as collagen, proteoglycans, and glycosaminoglycans. The Biodesign material’s natural composition of natural extracellular matrix (ECM) molecules help the body to completely remodel the graft into patient tissue. The result is a scaffold that, when implanted, provides a location for host cells to infiltrate and remodel into vascularized tissue. The 4-layer grafts are available in multiple sizes to meet your specific procedural needs.
